Since its establishment in 1885 the Londonderry Chamber of Commerce has played a leading role in the furtherance of the economic and social life in the North-West.
Even in the most difficult years of civic unrest and terrorist activity the Chamber has striven unceasingly to create the necessary infrastructure to ensure Derry´s true role as the commercial centre of the North West.
This historic organisation has been led over the years by individuals who have had business interests in the north west. Many of the names on the list of Past Presidents will be instantly recognisable.
The Derry Chamber really came into it's own when it moved into the current premises, a listed building within the City's walls, formerly occupied by the Honorable the Irish Society. The Society used the house as it's base when the London members visited the city. In 1994, The Irish Society granted the remaining lease to the Chamber. In 2001, the Chamber carried out extensive renovations to "Chamber of Commerce House" which sports a traditional boardroom admired by all who visit.
