HMD Architects Ltd are a locally based architectural practice offering a wide range of project rnmanagement services in the design and construction of building contracts throughout the North of rnIreland. The range of services ranges from feasibility studies / economic appraisals, through concept and detailed design to construction procurement and contract administration. We are on the respective government consultancy frameworks for both Northern Ireland and the Republic, offering services in various public sectors. rnrnOne of our current projects is the £115m Lisanelly Shared Education Campus in Omagh, in which we are part of the Bovis Lend Lease Group, which will address issues of sustainability and the shared planning of capital provision among six post primary schools in the Omagh area.rnrnOther projects include the £75m review of the primary school estates in the Dioceses of Derry, Dromore and Down and Connor; the £4.5m Ballyshannon Garda Headquarters and Courthouse for the Office of Public Works, Dublin; the £4.25m new clubhouse for Portstewart Golf Club; the £2.5m Administration Wing, Finner Camp, Bundoran, for the Ministry of Defence, Dublin; the £12.5m Millennium Forum, Derry for the Derry Theatre Trust and the £2.5m refurbishment of the School of Music for Queens University, Belfast.rnrnWe support a concept lead approach to design. We analyse, challenge and develop the brief before working towards a solution. The approach is based on an understanding of new materials and technologies; a knowledge of the past and a respect for the environment. Repeat commissions are our most powerful testimony. We seek to establish the objectives and specific needs of our clients with the view to create long term relationships.rnrnHMD Architects have implemented and practiced a Quality System confirming to BSEN ISO 9001:2008 for the past 15 years and have been Constructionline registered since 2002. We subscribe to the Construction Skills Forum to promote best practice methodologies in developing skills, improvements in efficiencies and quality of contract, and multi-disciplinary management. We have received many design awards for our work on the Millennium Forum, L’Derry; the Tower Museum, L’Derry; the Craft Village, L’Derry, the Healthy Living Centre, L’Derry and Drumragh Church, Omagh. Our work has also been published in the national press and professional trade magazines in acknowledgement of our expertise in sustainability, building conservation, contemporary design and community participation. rn
