Principle First Financial Services are delighted to be one of the official sponsors of Londonderry Chamber of Commerce.

As the north-west's primary independent financial adviser, covering all areas of financial planning, we are keen to support the Chamber in its role as the city's leading forum for business-to-business contact and information exchange.

To date we have found the Chamber to be extremely helpful in our own development, both as a provider of information and a marketing source for the Principle First brand.

We hope to benefit as a sponsor and we look forward to displaying to other members how we have benefited commercially at the annual dinner in October, of which we are also the main sponsor.

Business has been difficult for many members over the past few years, but we are optimistic that the business environment will evolve over the coming year. We look forward to working closely with the Chamber and its member companies, offering advice and practical assistance.

A significant area that will have a profound effect on business is the new government legislation that will require all employers to provide a company pension scheme for their employees. We recently held a seminar on this topic, in conjunction with the Chamber, where international pensions expert Steve Bee provided an informative and incisive presentation. We plan to run several seminars throughout the year, to highlight areas where members can enhance their financial planning.

Locally, we find a lot of clients regard their business as their pension. We emphasise that business should fund your pension, not be your pension. Through future seminars we hope to highlight similar thought processes that should be applied to best practice financial planning.

Principle First was founded locally in 2004, and since then we have been setting the standard for quality, independent financial advice, combining close customer contact with a 'whole of market' approach.
