A number of activities will commence on friday the 25th June to celebrate the opening of the Peace bridge, with the final unveiling beginning on Saturday 26th June. Please view a full list of activities for the event HERE
A chorus of 600 voices from across all schools in the Derry City Council area will lead the opening celebration and ceremony, performing a new piece of music by Ian Wilson. Our young people are the perfect ambassadors to mark this historic moment for our city. They represent family, neighbourhood and community. They represent energy, talent and vitality while also representing the hopes and dreams of our city into the future. Supported by an orchestra and choir, this chorus will fan out from edge to edge across the Peace Bridge in a rainbow of colour as they make the bridge their own and invite civic leaders and citizens to take the first steps across our new bridge.
