The mission of the University of Ulster is to support the social, cultural and economic development of Northern Ireland by being an outstanding model of a regional university with a national and international reputation for quality.

The University of Ulster is the largest university on the island of Ireland (circa 22,000 students) and its Magee campus in Londonderry is the most rapidly expanding campus of the University. Over the next five years it is anticipated that student numbers at Magee will increase to over 5000 fte´s (circa 7500 students). New programmes and the strategic rationalisation of teaching and research activities has allowed the University to support the local social and economic agenda for Londonderry. Working in partnership with the local enterprise agencies, Londonderry chamber of commerce and Derry City Council has facilitated the development of a strategic area plan for the Magee campus.
