With all that’s happened this year, it’s easy to forget that the Brexit transition period is set to end 100 days from 22 September, on31 December 2020.

As organisations turn their attention from COVID-19 responses to look ahead to 2021, it’s hardly surprising that Brexit is rapidly rising up the business agenda and Northern Ireland has unique challenges ahead.

As one expert puts it: The NI/IRL Protocol means that all goods entering or exiting Northern Ireland (NI) have to comply with EU product regulations and other technical regulations. This is not just about the standards of goods or technical regulations in and of themselves; it also means that certification, authorisation, assessments, registration and approval for NI products are all affected.

Our expert panel includesDeirdre Maguire of InterTrade Ireland, Dr Trevor Cadden of University ofUlster and Seamus Leheny of Logistics UK  providing  advice and information to help support businesses to prepare for Brexit challenges whilst Andrew Fleming of Fleming Steel sets the scene to describe the realities of Brexit for his cross border business.
