“It’s the economy, stupid” is an often-quoted phrase first used by a strategist in Bill Clinton’s successful 1992 presidential campaign against incumbent George H. W. Bush. Whilst this may not be Washington and the presidential campaign of 2020 is behind us, the economy in Northern Ireland has certainly suffered during successive lockdowns of the Covid pandemic and we are all keen to hear what 2021 holds in store.
Conor Lambe, Danske’s Chief Economist will talk us through the impact of 2020’s fall in output, and presents his predictions for when the economy will start to recover, what the economic indicators are saying and is it too early to talk about “green shoots”.
