Time:   11:00am – 11.45am

Location: Zoom Webinar

This webinar aims to take the mystery out of the appointment of Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) to your Board; matched appropriately to your business they can add real value by creating a strategic partnership, offering investment opportunities and free-thinking.

The panel will start with the basics:

  • what is a Non-Executive Director?
  • how can they add value to your business?
  • how can a business access the network of NEDs?
  • what costs are associated with taking on a NED?
  • How can a NED open up access to alternative financing?
  • Can you engage a NED on a temporary basis?

We will hear from Paul McElvaney about Learning Pool’s experience of engaging a NED and also from Dr Bryan Keating, who will speak from from his own perspective as that Non-Executive Director: the process and the benefits, also including how by doing so, this helped to realise the company’s ambitions. We will also hear from the experts, Kirsty McManus of Institute of Directors NI and Susan Nightingale from British Business Bank, providing the answers to all your questions.
