Too many business owners have the “it won’t happen to me” mentality when it comes to fire safety in the workplace. But fire safetyis a hugely important aspect of risk management, and it is one that needs to be taken seriously.
A fire can be catastrophic for businesses — itcan threaten the safety of employees and members of the public, destroy expensive equipment and ruin your brand’s reputation. And most workplaces will have a number of fire risks.

This training will provide information for small business owners and their staff. David Hamilton will explainthe N. I. Fire Regulations, how they apply and what businesses need to do to comply, including a fire risk assessment. The second part of the training will cover the fire triangle, action in event of fire, the different fire extinguishers and testing and maintenance of the fire protection measures.

David F. Hamilton, Fire Risk Consultant

David has over 44 years’ experience in the fire industry, including thepublic and the private sector, working throughout the U.K. and R.O.I.
Through his consultancy he provides a professional, friendly, and reliable service. Premises inspected and assessed include offices, shops, factories, hospitals, educational buildings, residential care (to HTM84 standard) and licensed premises. He is the fire safety advisor at the N. W Independent Hospital in Ballykelly.
Services include fire safety inspectionswith the preparation of fire risk assessment reports, passive fire protection inspections, on-site fire consultancy advice, formulation of fire policies, preparation of fire strategy documents for developers and architects ensuring compliance with the Building Regulations and the relevant standards, staff fire awareness training and fire warden training.
