EURES Cross Border Employer Tax Incentives

The Londonderry Chamber, in association with EURES Cross Border Partnership, hosted a lunch time Business Seminar on Employment Incentives and support available for SME’s in the Cross Border Region. The event, held at the An Grianan Hotel on 17th August was a great success with business owners and managers coming from across the region to hear from our eight speakers about assistance available to them.

Areas covered were varied, covering innovation, start-ups, growing business, recruitment and operational improvements.

Representatives from Department of Social Welfare in ROI and the Department for Communities in NI talked the attendees through the different programmes and schemes available to assist in recruitment and indeed cost saving ways of skilling new employees.

The Local Enterprise Office in Donegal and Derry City and Strabane District Council (DCSDC) business officer talked businesses through the many funding opportunities and programmes they have available to businesses at different stages of their evolution from Pre Start up to established.  An insightful case study was provided by Aoife Doherty from Sass and Halo, winner of the DCSDC 10K Challenge about how the programme has impacted her business.

And Grant Gilmore from InterTradeIreland also presented an insightful overview of the services and funding streams available to help your business grow.  We also heard from David McQuaid from J Doherty Meats, who availed of InterTradeIreland's services to grow their presence in the Irish market.
