Derry~Londonderry Business Awards Results

Some of Derry’s most exciting developing businesses along with some of the city’s most successful established enterprises have won the city’s premier business accolades in this year’s annual Business Awards ceremony.

The sell-out event was held on Friday evening at the City Hotel, attracting support from across the city’s and region’s business community.

The annual event was co-hosted by the Londonderry Chamber of Commerce and the City Centre Initiative, with sponsorship from the Bank of Ireland.

Sinead McLaughlin, chief executive of Londonderry Chamber of Commerce, said: “We are thrilled by the quality of the entries.  Excellent businesses won the awards, but the runners-up represented “Best in Class” and deserved commendation for reaching the finals.

“The quality of the entries was very high.  That quality reflects the dynamism and commitment of our business community in Derry.  We have superb local firms in the city and some of the very best have been rewarded in these awards.

“The annual Business Awards has become an established part of the local business calendar.  The success of this year’s events has made it even more firmly established as one of the major events of the year.”

Jim Roddy, chief executive of the City Centre Initiative, added: “The City Centre Initiative congratulates all the winners in this year’s Awards.  But we also congratulate those businesses that were finalists, without winning.  There was a 26% rise in applicants this year so the competition was tough, therefore the businesses who reached the finals were also winners as far as the city is concerned.
