Chamber welcomes First Minister Peter Robinson's wholehearted apology to the Muslim community
"The First Minister has said what needed to be said. We welcome that and thank him for it - now let's move on.
One positive and productive way forward would be to put in place a programme for community cohesion, that includes all of our population. This should assist in the healing of old wounds, but also ensure that newer communities are welcomed and integrated. Peter Robinson said that he is committed to 'building a united community' in Northern Ireland. That is an excellent intention and we urge the Executive to work together to achieve this.
Achieving economic prosperity for Northern Ireland rests on our society's capacity to create that united community."
