Policy Overview

The Chamber uses its considerable influence, expertise and experience to influence policy across a range of issues vital to commercial interests in the North West.

The Chamber’s key areas of policy focus are:

  • Membership services
  • Education and Skills
  • Entrepreneurship and Enterprise
  • Arts and Tourism
  • North West Regional Development

Our officers and board engage in an extensive range of activities to insure that our members’ interests are communicated effectively to government and other key decision makers and influencers. The Chamber plays an active role in contributing to key policy and stakeholder bodies in the region, participating in numerous committees, steering groups and boards.

A key area of focus has been the positive promotion of the region, building on the platform that City of Culture 2013 provided in terms of stakeholder and media engagement.

We will continue to campaign on issues vital to the economic development of Derry including the expansion of the University of Ulster at Magee and requirement for action on the A6 and A5 road schemes.
